The IELTS Exam International students who wish to study at a British university usually need a suitable IELTS exam score. Some professional employers in the UK also require foreign practitioners whose first language is not English to achieve an IELTS score.

Programme

To join the IELTS course, you need an Intermediate level of English or above. You can usually start any Monday but you must check with us first that a suitable class will be available. Some students only need a short course, while others need more time to achieve their required test score. We will familiarise you with the test, and will help you learn the necessary exam techniques. We will improve your confidence and test skills through preparation for the exam: essay writing, fluent and accurate speaking, interpreting graphs and charts, and reading and listening practice. This programme includes sample exam questions. You can usually take the IELTS examination in Glasgow, and we will help you to book your exam. Exam places in Glasgow are limited, so early booking is advised. You will be given advice on self-study and are encouraged to use English outside the classroom. You are welcome to use the school’s books and computers for self-study in the school, and a teacher is available during the day to give you advice. For longer-term students, we can offer advice on life in the UK, and can help with day-to-day matters such as banks, accommodation or registering with a doctor.

Please note that the IELTS test fee is not included in the course price. The approximate price for an IELTS Exam fee is £100. IELTS Exams need to be booked at least 6 weeks in advance and we cannot guarantee your preferred test date.
