Career Prospects and Progression

The majority of students following these courses are mature students who are studying for pleasure or because they intend going on holidays or to live in Italy. However, these language units would certainly enhance the student`s job opportunities where appropriate. The majority of candidates decide to move on to the GCSE programme after 2 to 3 years on average.

Modules

12 units in all are studied: On average 4 units per year. They are: Personal information/home and daily routine/food and drink/finding accommodation/tourist information/leisure/holidays/world of work/travel/dealing with money/shops and savvies and health matters.

Method of Assessment

Continuous assessment. Portfolios and tapes to show evidence of listening, speaking, reading and writing skills are presented in portfolio form for moderation in July. No formal examination.
