About this course
Normally students 16 - 19 years of age will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C including English Language and/or Media Studies at a minimum of grade B. Students should also have an interest in television, journalism, media and films. Entry for mature students without formal qualifications is at the discretion of the Faculty.

Course Content

Learners are exposed to a range of Media Texts, both print-based and audio-visual.

Career Prospects and Progression
A Levels provide an excellent basis for progression to Higher level qualifications such as degrees or Higher National Diplomas. There are a number of careers directly related to Media Studies including Television Researcher, Journalism, TV and Radio Presenter, TV Production Assistant. Other careers where the skills developed through Media Studies might be useful would include Public Relations Officer, Marketing Manager, Information Assistant, Arts Administrator, Editorial Assistant.
