It adopts a preventative approach to hazardes and is aimed at people who are not health and safety specialists. The course is suitable for learners who do not wish to attend a classroom session but prefer to work at their own pace and from home. the course has 120 guided learning hours.

What will I learn?
Every year in Britain 250 people lose their lives at work. Every year about 156,000 non-fatal injuries are reported. Every year an estimated 2.3 milion people suffer from ill health caused by, or made worse by work. By implementing and using health and safety measures effectively you can help to save lives. The programme content has four units, all of which must be completed successfully to achieve the qualification. Unit 1: Introduction to Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 Unit 2: Hazards, Risks and Risk Assessment Unit 3: Electricity, Hazardous Substances (COSHH) and Fire Safety Unit 4: Work Equipment (PUWER, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and First Aid

How will I be assessed?
The assessnebts will take place through internally assessed and externally moderated workbooks. The learning materials that you are going to work through provide the knowledge that you need to successfully complete the assessments. Throughout the material you will also find activities for you to do. These are designed to help reinforce and apply this knowledge to your workplace. By completing them as thoroughly as you can you will prepare yourself for the successful completion of the programm

Progression onto the NEBOSH Certificate.
