Who is this course for?

This course is the recognised qualification for those working in the health and social care sector as care workers in nursing, residential or domiciliary care.

To achieve the qualification the candidate must complete four mandatory and two optional units. These include: communicate with, and complete records for individuals, ensure your own actions support the care, protection and well-being of individuals, support the health and safety of yourself and individuals, develop your knowledge and practice, help individuals to eat and drink and support individuals with their personal care needs.

This qualification is well recognised for employment with Health and Social Services Trusts and there are also good employment opportunities within voluntary and private care organisations. Candidates can take additional units as part of continuing professional development.

They can also progress to NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care

How long is this course for?
1 extended evening per week for 35 weeks (Armagh, Banbridge, and Newry), 1 day per week for 35 weeks (Newry)
