Applicants should have reached a reasonable standard of education; GCSE grades A-D in English, Maths and a Science (maybe flexible depending on interview performance. Applicant should possess the necessary motivation, commitment to study and awareness of the demand of the programme. All applicants will be required to attend an interview and undertake an initial assessment and an aptitude test.
PROGRAMME CONTENT/STRUCTURE

Install Heating and Ventilating Systems and Components; and
Pre-commission and Decommission Heating and Ventialting Systems.
PROGRESSION/CAREERS OPPORTUNITIES
After the successful completion of the Heating and Ventilation Installation (Pipe Fitter) Apprenticeship, Apprentices will gain the following awards:
NVQ Level 2 in Heating and Ventilation Installation;
Heating and Ventilation Technical Certificate (Papers 1 & 2;
Core Paper Accreditation;
Key Skills Application of Number Level 2;
Key Skills Communication Level 2; and
Key Skills IT Level 1.
Apprentices are then expected to progress onto the Advanced Apprenticeship - NVQ3
ASSESSMENT STRUCTURE Computer based exams for Technical Certificate and Core Paper, Portfolio completion for NVQ element, Portfolio and exam for Key Skills elements (exemption if equivalent GCSEs achieved), Practical assignments
EXCURSIONS / WORK EXPERIENCE Learners need to be employed in the industry full time
