NVQ LEVEL 3 IN PHARMACY SERVICES AND BTEC CERTIFICATE IN PHARMACY SERVICES

Who is this course for?

These two programmes are delivered together to meet the requirements of achieving Pharmacy Technician status with the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain. They are suitable for full-time dispensary staff, who wish to progress to Pharmacy Technicians.

The NVQ course covers a range of pharmacy related subjects including:-
  • Dispensing medicines and products
  • Controlling stock of pharmaceutical materials and equipment
  • Providing pharmaceutical information and advice
  • Assisting in the sale of over the counter medicines and providing information to customers on symptoms and products

For the NVQ a portfolio of evidence and direct observation in the work place forms the assessment process. A City and Guilds certificate will be issued on satisfactory completion.

The BTEC National Certificate consists of 12 units which will be assessed by completion of assignments.

These include:-
  • Pharmacy Law
  • MicroBiology for Pharmacy Technicians
  • IT and Automation for Pharmacy Technicians
