The course encompasses a range of activities and subject matter including portraiture, landscape, fashion and documentary. The subject is delivered through projects, with any written work integrated with practical work to give more relevance, breadth and depth to the experience. Much of the work will be practical and is likely to involve studio and location work.
About this course
Normally students 16 - 19 years of age will require a minimum of 5 GCSEs at grades A* - C. Those wishing to study Photography should have a grade c or above in a related subject and/or a portfolio of work. Entry for mature students without formal qualifications is at the discretion of the Faculty.

Career Prospects and Progression
A Levels provide an excellent basis for progression to Higher level qualifications such as degrees or Higher National Diplomas. Photography can provide skills which can be used in a wide range of occupations including Photo journalism or Advertising; Fashion, Sport, Travel photography; TV or Film; Portrait or Studio work; Interior / Architecture or Landscape photography, Fine Art photography, or many other positions in the photography industry.

The AS has two coursework units each worth 30?,a supervised timed task worth 40?.The A2 has one course work unit worth 30?, a personal investigative study worth 30? and a supervised timed task of 40?.
