SVQ 3/PDA Dental Nursing
The SVQ consists of 11 core units and an independent assessment, 1st Friday in June, set by a tri-party agreement between SQA, City and Guilds and NEBDN.

Core subjects include:

Health and Safety, Cross Infection Control, Medical Emergencies, Anatomy and Physiology relating to Dental Treatment, Oral Disease and Pathology, Restorative Dentistry - Radiography, Minor Oral Surgery and finally Dental Drugs, Materials, Instruments and Equipment relating to procedures.

The course also includes Core Skills (Numeracy and Information Technology), and First Aid. Applicants must be employed in a dental practice to undertake this course.
