Vocational Assessment Programme
This course is run at Kilmarnock and is designed to meet the needs of school leavers requiring additional support. It aims to prepare young people for adult life and work while assisting them to make more informed choices about the future. Vocational tasters include Catering, Caring, Hairdressing, Construction, Motor Vehicle, Metalwork, PE and Retail Activity. Also incorporated are Communication, Numeracy, Computing, Job Seeking Skills, the World of Work and Personal and Vocational Guidance. A 4 week work placement is negotiated and undertaken with tutor support. On-course guidance is also given.

Progression
Assessment reports from all subject areas will form an integral part of the student's Personal Learning and Support Plan. This will go forward with the young person to
the next step which could be a training or college course.
