To teach various techniques of patchwork and quilting: Design, speed cutting and piecing; hand cutting and piecing; different techniques of piecing for different types of design; creating the quilt layers; basting and quilting; handquilting and machine quilting; advice on fabric and equipment purchase. Suitable for: Anyone over the age of 12. Anyone who is a complete beginner at needlecrafts or someone wanting to learn new skills and add to existing ones.

About this course
ability to thread a needle! We advise before the course of some inexpensive but necessary equipment to purchase before te start of the course. A sewing machine is not required-we have 2 machines you can use on the course or you may prefer to do your patchwork and quilting by hand. Both methods are taught.

Course programme
6 sessions (one every Saturday 10.00 until 1.00pm). Each week you learn patchwork and quilting techniques in a group setting (no more than 10 people) and there will be some finishing off work in your own time before the next session. After the final session you will have created a beautiful, unique sampler quilt to treasure and you will also have all the knowhow to continue this satisfying and green! craft.
