Course Content
This course is offered in partnership with Swansea Metropolitan University and offers an opportunity for those who want to develop their skills and explore new directions in the theatre and performing arts industry.
In year one, the core programme focuses on developing the skills of performance, on the awareness of voice and body and the developing of skills in both devising and text-based theatre.
In year two, the course examines the concept of 'production' in theatre and performing arts. It develops the student's understanding of the theatre company and the demands of producing theatre for public consumption. Alongside this there will be more detailed and thorough consideration of specific forms of theatre practice, especially acting. Elective modules allow the student to explore specialisms.
Year three continues core work in the understanding of the concept of -production, including giving students the opportunity to develop their own showcase performance which will reflect their individual specialism in theatre practice. Alongside this independent focus, students will be able to choose an elective programme which best suits their likely career/academic path following graduation.
