The one year Level 2 Performing Arts BTEC Extended Certificate is a fantastic introduction to a range of performing arts and employability skills – all while you improve you gain a valuable Level 2 qualification worth 4 GCSEs. It has been designed with both education and vocation in mind and as such will develop practical skills and understanding of the performing arts for your future career alongside enabling access to higher study.


This course is for those who wish to have a broad introduction to the performing arts. It is for students who are able to enjoy the discipline of group work as well as developing personal skills. Performing Arts students contribute to College life in a variety of ways and take part in high quality productions in all areas of theatre. You will take part in live performances and shows to enable you to determine which aspect of performing arts you wish to study at Level 3.


In addition to your main programme You will also engage in GEM and GAP activities to develop your English, maths and employability skills.

Performing Arts BTEC Level 2 Units may include:

  • Performing Scripted Plays

  • Contemporary Dance

  • Supporting Performance (Front of House)






Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs (grades A*-E) including English and maths, or satisfactory results in a relevant Level 1 qualification, and an audition.

Course Progression

Our term starts the week commencing 5th September 2016,
however you may have different start dates depending on the course.
You will receive the details of your first day over the summer period,
