Course programme

The course does not have any formal examinations. All work is assignment based and these assignments are assessed by the team of tutorial staff who work on the Performing Arts programmes.

Students would normally have approximately 24 hours of teaching time during a week. However, students need to be available for the entire week. This allows staff to suspend the timetable and work together with students in the preparation for performances and assessments. Often this will entail working from 9.30am to 4.45pm each day.

When performances are given to the public, students will need to be available beyond the college day as performances are often held in the evening.

Additional information

Course fees of £150 per year cover theatre trips and workshops. During each year there are often opportunities to see live performance work given by other students and also professional work in regional and national venues. Some practical classes will ask that specialist clothing is worn - ballet and jazz for example. All students will be required to wear 'blacks' for some classes and assessments. Details of such clothing will be given during enrolment and induction.
