Aim:
The purpose of this distant learning course is to provide candidates with an awareness of the core skills and practical skills necessary for the delivery of effectives personal care.

Length of Study:
9 Weeks

Entry Requirements:
There are no formal entry requirements however it would be beneficial if the Candidate had basic competence in IT and the internet.

Contents:
Personal Care Needs, Communication Skills, Meeting Clients' Hygiene Needs, Meeting Clients' nutritional/feeding needs, Continence Care, Stoma Care, Pressure Sore Prevention and Other Tissue Viability Issues.

Study Method:
Internet-based self-study. This is an online programme with assistance and support being provided through the College virtual learning environment.

Assessment:
Online assessment to be completed at home.
