The Programme
This course is designed for students to learn skills needed for work within the catering industry and leads to a nationally recognised Entry Level qualification.
Students will study the following:
Catering skills (preparing and cooking food, running a cafe)
Catering Theory (menu planning, budgeting),
Customer service skills, and essential skills containing the following units: numeracy - money handling, communication skills, and ICT. All Basic skills are embedded throughout these classes.
The Programme Content
This course runs for three days per week, with the possibility of an extra self funded day (see Work Development/Skills Development courses). The students have individual programmes designed to meet their needs.
Both courses offer realistic catering skills as students run a small cafe and outside events.
