Course Setup
This course consists of 10 video-based lessons. Each lesson is approximately 30 minutes in duration and most include supplementary files and footage.
This course can be taken at any time - for instance every day for 10 days, or once a week for 10 weeks.

This course is ideal for anyone who has completed our PFTrack Introduction course and would like to take their camera tracking skills further by learning advanced techniques for both camera tracking and motion capture to solve the most difficult of tracks.

Topics covered will include, but not limited to: object tracking, placing a 3D car over an existing car shot and tracking it, tracking a face and then using the point cloud to help model a replacement face. The course will also cover in great detail how to use objects to track shots that cannot be tracked with conventional methods, as well as how to use i/tech files from Cooke Lens with PFTrack.

Course Outline:

Lesson 1: Doing a poor man's motion capture with multiple cameras referenced together to create a point cloud of the performance
Lesson 2: Part 1 - Different methods for tracking moving car shots
Lesson 3: Part 2 - Different methods for tracking moving car shots
Lesson 4: Part 1 of 2: Tracking a opening bicycle shot
Lesson 5: Part 2 of 2: Tracking a opening bicycle shot
Lesson 6: Tracking a moving camera steadicam shot with variable focal length and motion blur, and working with DPX files
Lesson 7: Tracking shots containing motion blur, defocus, zoom, and moving objects
Lesson 8: Tracking shots containing film grain, noise, motion blur, rapid camera movement, and zooming, all without any meta data
Lesson 9: Solving a shot with extreme lens distortion
Lesson 10: Using tracking data further down the pipeline and applying tracking data to create a final shot
