With our online Ergonomics Postgraduate Diploma, we offer you the flexibility to gain a named award of your choice in one of three specialist pathways:

Postgraduate Diploma Ergonomics (Human Factors)

Postgraduate Diploma Health Ergonomics

Postgraduate Diploma Ergonomics and Organisational Behaviour

After completing the diploma, you would then be able to progress on to our masters degree, which was the first online MSc Ergonomics degree to be launched in Europe. Our MSc would make you eligible for graduate membership with the Chartered Institute of Ergonomics and Human Factors (CIEHF). You also have the option to start with our Ergonomics Postgraduate Certificate and build up to the diploma.

About this course

During this course, you will develop excellent skills to help you evaluate and design tasks, jobs, products, environments and systems that are compatible with the needs and limitations of people.

Employment prospects for ergonomists can be diverse as demand for these specialist skills can be found in a range of fields from healthcare to aviation, nuclear safety to product design.

You'll need a UK undergraduate degree or equivalent professional qualification in a relevant discipline. If you have key practical experience and work based training, you may also apply.

What you will study

If we have insufficient numbers of students interested in an optional module, this may not be offered. In addition, where demand is high, some modules may be subject to a cap.

To complete the Postgraduate Certificate in Ergonomics (specialist pathway) you will need to complete the core modules then choose the optional module relevant to your specialist pathway:

  • Human Behaviour and Health for the Health Ergonomics pathway
  • Organisational Psychology for the Ergonomics and Organisational Behaviour pathway
