Aim of the Course
This programme aims to meet the needs of future business, banking and finance professionals in not only the financial sector but also other large international corporations. The course will provide you with the theoretical framework and practical skills that finance, investments and business professionals working in multinational corporations need in order to cope with an increasingly complex and global financial environment. The programme also provides a valuable foundation for those contemplating careers in further academic study in the applied finance and accounting field. An integrated approach consisting of financial management, accounting and finance and business is taken so as to provide a coherent business view that explores the interrelationships between the various components of the programme. The programme is distinctive in that it combines business orientation with financial management.
Entry Requirements
Applicants should usually hold a bachelors degree or equivalent qualification from a recognised British/overseas university in any subject or, alternatively, at least two years relevant work experience. Every applicant is assessed individually on their own merit. Higher level professional qualifications may also be accepted. Candidates for whom English is not their first language will normally be required to have taken an English language test and achieved a score of either TOEFL 600 or above, IELTS 6.5 or above, or Cambridge Advanced Certificate in English Grade B or above. This test must have been taken within two years prior to the start of the programme you are applying for. The business school also assists students whose first language is not English through close cooperation with the colleges English Language department.
Course structure
This programme consists of six compulsory modules including a research project proposal in preparation for a master's dissertation. The course gives learners an optimal balance of theory and practice with an exposure to management leading-edge practices.
