At Sussex, you develop the knowledge, clinical skills and cultural competence necessary to provide pharmaceutical care to patients. You’ll gain experience within the community, hospitals, primary care and the pharmaceutical industry – boosting your career prospects.
Our teaching is underpinned by programmes that promote the practical and clinical skills essential to becoming a pharmacist. Specialist equipment in our Pharmaceutical Care Centre includes the SimMan 3G. This is a human-patient simulator that enables you to learn from simulated clinical scenarios in a safe environment.

About this course
To qualify as a pharmacist in the UK, you need to complete a year of pre-registration training after your Pharmacy degree and pass a registration examination set by the General Pharmaceutical Council.
Because the disciplines that contribute to a Pharmacy degree are diverse, you can follow a range of careers, such as:
clinical pharmacist in the community
hospital pharmacist
roles in primary care.
You could also follow a career in academic pharmacy or in the pharmaceutical industry.
You must have at least 5 GCSEs (grades A* to C, or 9 to 4 in the new grading scale) including at least grade B ( or grade 6 ) in English, mathematics and two science subjects.
