At Sussex, we encourage diverse approaches to philosophical thinking. Our Philosophy MA has an interdisciplinary outlook, allowing you to stretch your intellectual interests and benefit from links with other departments.

Our research-led approach to teaching means you’ll study in a stimulating environment, with innovative modules in both the analytic and continental traditions of philosophy. You can engage with the wide range of research interests within our Department, while enjoying much freedom in your choice of modules and specialisation.

You have the opportunity to improve your oral skills by presenting your work. You’ll gain sophisticated philosophical skills that will benefit you in many future careers, and enable you to:

produce rational arguments

You should normally have an upper second-class (2.1) undergraduate honours degree or above.
