Phoenix Elevate Level 2, Full Time, 1 year 2

Summary

The course is for students who are aged 16 – 18 from wide and varying backgrounds. Students applying to Phoenix Elevate may have interrupted secondary education or have specific learning differences, which have formed barriers to achieving. Through completing the Phoenix Elevate programme you can access any number of progression routes; either Phoenix Plus provision, Level 2 vocational courses or employment.

The course is designed to move students on to their next step in well-supported and engaging surroundings. Students are supported and encouraged by a small, dedicated team of lecturers, comprehensive student support in and out of sessions, alongside an effective pastoral team.

Successful applicants will be able to achieve a BTEC Level 2 Diploma over the course of one year as well as Functional skills Maths and English at an appropriate level. There is an opportunity to study GCSE maths and English if appropriate. The course also offers a progression focused opportunity to develop employability and life skills. Enabling you to progress in all aspects of personal development. Providing you with opportunities to progress within further education or into employment.

This course will consist of:

• Functional Skills English and Maths or GCSE if needed as part of transition to further mainstream courses.
• Preparation for life and work; including study skills, experience of work, enterprise projects, team work and also developing social skills, confidence and independence building.
• Individual tutorials and progression preparation sessions.
