Photo-polymer Etching (from Drawing and Photography)
Tutor: Martyn Grimmer
3 day course
Develop your drawings and photographs onto photo-polymer plates and take your image through to inking and printing the etching. This is an acid free intaglio printmaking method with many creative possibilities.
Course Outline:
Starting with drawing and photography from your own portfolio or sketchbook you will develop your ideas onto photo-polymer plates through to inking and printing the etching in the studio. This process produces etchings for both photography and drawing with deep tonal qualities.
“Martyn was so skilled and generous with his expert knowledge and time” KS
The Photo-polymer Gravure Technique:
The photo-polymer gravure process uses light sensitive plates, using drawings and positive imagery. The intaglio plate is printed as with etching. It is an acid free process.
