2 Day Advanced Wedding workshop

Tony Sale

24/02/2010
What I would highlight: Jeff has a very relaxed style and made everyone feel very welcome and at ease. The course was very interactive and had a good balance between practical and 'class' based input. For me personally the highlight was the photo shoot, the opportunity to photograph the bride and groom (models) in slow time. Taking time to learn and practice lighting and posing techniques without the pressure of a real event.

What I would highlight: I would highly recommend this course,The course is a must even if your just taking the odd friends wedding or for those considering stepping into the wedding business . All course material is provided you just need to bring camera lens and flash gun.

Not only do you learn about business and marketing but you also get to do a mock wedding with a real bride and groom in full wedding attire
Jeff will then run through the poses that sell and also on how to place your couple, pre wedding shots of both bride and groom as well as detailed shots.

I feel the course has certainly improved my photography and how I approach my wedding couples
The course is run from Jeffs home which is extremely comfortable and you are made very welcome, tea, coffee snacks and lunch are all provided.

Jeff has time to spend with each person and gives hands on help and advice and answer any questions you have

Jeff will go through low lighting in church and explain camera settings,
no question is to big or small

It was great to see how passionate Jeff is about wedding photography
your be made to feel welcome and Jeff is a nice easy going person to get along with
What could be improved: I cant fault the course at all, there wasnt anything i didnt like about it .Oh apart from i had to come home because the day had ended

What I would highlight: Although I have a few weddings under my belt as a photographer I found Jeffs course very informative. You get hands on help, with a real wedding couple, in a great setting, Jeff not only runs through different poses with you but also the business side of wedding photography, from equipment , to marketing and insurance I have been on many a photo course but actually gained a lot of knowledge from this course and also came away with beautiful images taken by myself with Jeffs guidance what i have learnt will be useful time and time again I feel the personal attention and help you get is great value for money and have and will highly recommend this course to anyone who is thinking of taking wedding pictures The course boosted my confidence and has meant i can now produce much better images Oh and Jeff is a really nice friendly person to get along with, I myself have a slight learning problems but was in no way made to feel inferior , every thing was explain from ISO settings for low light through to DOF Andrea

2 Day Advanced Wedding workshop

What I would highlight: I recommend this course, for someone who has been out of photography for 20 years I found the experience and information invaluable as part of a fast-track back into the business. There's no substitute for actually being in a situation photographing a bride and groom in a typical location and having to deal with constantly changing light, and a different range of interiors. This course left me feeling a lot more confident about my future.
I also recommend the center. Jeff is very communicative and answered all my questions. He's very enthusiastic about his craft and it definitely rubs off. There's was so much information it was difficult at times to take it all in, but when asked he was willing to go back over certain things and even demonstrate. Also, a lovely buffet lunch was provided along with coffee and biscuits morning and afternoon which was welcome after all the hard work we had been doing.
What could be improved: The jaffa cakes during coffee breaks - apart from that nothing. There was nothing really bad about this course that I could put my finger on - I enjoyed it so much I've booked another one.

What I would highlight: This is stuff you can't get from a book! The first day we spent photographing bride & groom models in a lovely location. We learned how to pose the models, handle different types of lighting and I got some great shots to use for my portfolio. The second day was a group critique which I found very useful, especially seeing how the other students processed their pictures as it gave me ideas to take away and try for myself. Processing with Photoshop was covered and although I was pretty confident with this editor it made me go away and try other things - as a result my processing skills have improved. Some of the business side of things was also covered, which is equally if not more important than the actual photographing. All in all it was a very worthwhile course.

What I would highlight: Jeff's informative and engaging workshop gives students that extra boost of confidence which is most needed when entering the competitive world of wedding photography for the first time. A mix of class and location based activities gives a comprehensive and informative insight from one of the regions most respected photographers. Students also get the chance to build their wedding portfolio by working with models throughout the day to ensure they leave well equipt to tackle their first apppointment. A highly affective and thoroughly recommended workshop.

Introduction to Wedding Photography

What I would highlight: I attended this course in 2009 because I had been asked to photograph a friend's wedding. Although I had done many portraits in the past I had not done a wedding before. I have to say that the workshop was fantastic. From the Church that we used, the bride & groom models that were available and also for the actual training and course pack we were all given. Jeff Turnbull was great with all of us throughout the day, going through all the details that would be required on the day of the wedding. Not only did I learn how to photograph a wedding but I learnt from Jeff so much about how to deal with people on the wedding day in order to capture all those special moments. Following the course Jeff kept in touch with me making sure that I was prepared for the wedding but also sending me other information about photography that I found so benificial. The wedding that I photographed for my friend went really well and from that I also got another wedding booking. This workshop was really great value and definately gets the two thumbs up from me I would recommend it to amyone who is looking to get into wedding photography or for someone like me who originally did it because I'd been asked to photograph a friend's wedding.
