During Year 1, students have the opportunity to study AS Level Photography in addition to the main programme, and to continue to A2 level during Year 2. There are regular visits to galleries and photographic industries. Students are encouraged to gain work experience placement.

Assessment Coursework is assessed at regular intervals throughout the course and is internally and externally verified. The Final Major Project, which requires each learner to submit a completed 'project proposal' prior to the practical element of the project taking place, is externally assessed. At the end of year two, students exhibit their work in the End of Year Diploma Show, which is open to the public.
