Auto or Manual?

Why would I want to use the manual mode if my camera can automatically adjust these settings for me?

One word, Control.

We want to set the camera to take the photo that we see not the photo the camera sees.

For example: If we have a scene that is backlit, the camera is very easily fooled into exposing for the highlights whereas we may not want that.

We want to have control over the camera so that we set the aperture to control the depth of field.

We want to select the shutter speed so we control whether the action is frozen or intentionally blurred to show movement.

There are many instances where auto mode will give you a good photo, by using manual mode we can get a great photo instead.

We have designed the best online photography course to give you all the knowledge you need to be confident in taking your camera off Auto, be more creative, progress your skills and explore the full capabilities of your camera.

At the end of the course you will gain a Certificate of Achievement however, the most important elements you gain are knowledge, inspiration and the confidence to enjoy photography and get the photographs you always wanted.
