The FdA Photography is designed for students to pursue their interest and creativity in photography, helping them to develop a broad range of skills and techniques. They will be developing their ideas and practice through research and expert guidance, turning their visions, skills and talents into career opportunities.

During the two-year programme students will learn and utilise practical photography skills, academic study skills, entrepreneurial thinking, and collaborative working practice.

Students will learn alongside others who are passionate about photography and will be taught techniques from introductory to industry-standard in studio, darkroom and digital based photographic practices. Students will work on combined projects linked to professional practice and employability.

How will I be assessed?

The modules are integrated into a programme of continuous assessment through assignments. There are no exams associated with this course.

What is the entry process?

Applications should be made through UCAS, using the following UCAS Reference codes:

Institution code: W25 (Warwickshire College)

Course code: W640 (FdA Photography)

What are the entry requirements?

Minimum qualifications: Full level 3

Three A Levels at grade D or above, preferably to include, Art & Design, Photography, or a BTEC Extended Diploma in a relevant subject with Merit profile. Other equivalent Level 3 qualifications will be considered. A minimum of 180 UCAS points will be required upon entry. All applications will be subject to an interview and portfolio review. Mature students will be considered on an individual basis with a supporting portfolio.

What else do I need to know?

The delivery of the course is through lecture-based sessions, practical workshops, independent study, group and individual tutorials. Students will have access to a main base room, industry standard equipment, and photographic studios.
