Photopolymer & Solarplate

Produce truly stunning results with light sensitive plates: fast, safe and simple. Photopolymer printmaking is a revolutionary etching process as plates no longer need to be bitten in acid and images can be created from a wide variety of sources, from hand-drawn artwork or using photographic and digital techniques. This weekend course will explore a number of alternative "non-etch" intaglio processes, introducing both photopolymer film and Solarplate techniques. Solarplate or photopolymer gravure uses remarkable water-washable photopolymer plates, producing results similar to 19th century process of photogravure, “Solarplate” is an innovative new printmaking process that is safe and fast. Although the course will be of interest to all artists, it is particularly suitable for those working with photographic and digital imaging who wish to produce high quality original prints.
(No previous experience required but some previous experience of etching would be useful)
