Standard AS/A level entry requirements of five GCSEs at grade A*-C apply.
In addition GCSE Science and Mathematics at grade B or above is required.
Plus a minimum APS Score: 46

Aim This course provides you with advanced training in technical, historical and practical aspects of photography. You will gain knowledge, understanding and the skills needed for a career in photography through the exploration of techniques and the interpretation of still and moving imagery achieved through a lens-based media.

Practical aspects are covered through a variety of assignments, followed by more individualised study as you begin to choose your own specialist areas of interest.

Content During the course you will:
· Develop your knowledge in the application of physics and the skills needed for the application of this in new and changing situations
· Explore different areas such as the link between theory and experiment
· Appreciate how physics has developed and is used in present day society
· Show the importance of how physics interacts with social, economic and industrial matters
· Understand the ways in which different areas of physics relate to each other.

Year 1 - AS level
1. Particles, Quantum Phenomena and Electricity
2. Mechanics, Materials and Waves
3. Assessment of practical skills.

Year 2 - A level
1. Fields and Further Mechanics
2. Nuclear, Thermal and Astrophysics
3. Assessment of practical skills.

Progression/career opportunities
The successful completion of this course will allow students to progress on to a range of Higher Education programmes or to enter a career in a number of industries including engineering.

Screening
Students will also be screened (in the College) and must achieve literacy and numeracy at the level appropriate to the course.
