THE BODY CONTROL PILATES ACADEMY
One day workshop
Use of the physio or gym ball has become very popular in recent years, as the importance of 'Core Stability' has come to be recognised. This workshop will examine the use of the ball with regard to exercises for beginners and for rehab patients, specifically addressing spinal stabilisation and mobilisation, posture control, hip stabilisation and mobilisation, total leg alignment, function of the neutralising muscles. It will also address general issues, such as ball size and inflation, safety issues, patient evaluation, warm-up and muscle patterning. Participants will be taken through a series of Pilates on the Ball exercises.
