Course programme

A former Royal Academy of Dance scholar, Emma Stewart spent time away from dancing as she completed a BA(Hons) degree in German and Linguistics and a career in industry, before returning to dance and Pilates teaching after settling in the NE of Scotland with her husband and 2 boys (and collie!).

She completed Pilates Institute Matwork 1 qualification in 2005 and has gone on to complete further Pilates Institute Training on Pregnancy and Pilates, Pilates on the Ball and Matwork 2 (1-1 Pilates and Postural Assessment). She is a member of the Pilates Institute, Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, currently completing the ISTD Certificate of Dance Education. She teaches Pilates classes throughout Deeside and Ballet (for all ages and abilities) in Lumphanan and at Deeside Dance Centre, where she is Principal.

Her greatest satisfaction comes from observing the progress and successes - both small and large - that her clients achieve and the benefits that improved posture, balance and strength bring. Each client is important and every lesson includes individual correction and coaching at some point, so classes are small and places limited.

She is delighted to work closely with Katie Gordon to provide a full range of Pilates at ACHS.
