The pilot, in the past, was the one who guided the ship along the established route, even without having the command with tasks similar to those of the current navigator. Currently, however, the profession of pilot refers to all those who work at the helm of any means of transport, be it air or sea. The responsibility for the conduct of the flight (whether commercial or private) always lies with the pilot-in-command, whose authority on board is equal to that of the commander on board a ship. The pilot is in charge of the crew, a term used to indicate all the people on board for the service of the aircraft.
