This course has been designed for parents, child minders, teaching assistants and those with an interest in creating high-quality, educational resources for children. Creative play is vitally important to any child’s development. Providing quality, planned experiences for children’s play is an important way for adults to support children’s learning that is enjoyable, educational and challenging. When children play, they are learning at the highest level. Creating stimulating resources can be a fun, creative experience that will continue to bring pleasure once prepared. Whether you are attending for personal or professional reasons, this course will deliver and expand your approach to creative play and learning resources. No previous creative skills are needed to attend this course - the step-by-step projects can be adapted to your own requirements and wishes. You will create new resources from high quality, ethically sourced, recycled materials. Each week the classes will be themed - you will choose from a selection of creative prompts and use these to inspire a creation. All you need to do is bring your imagination and you will leave every week with a new treasured creation. The college has teamed up with SCARF, The School and Community Arts Resource Facility, to combine expertise to provide training in this area.
