This is a full-time course which covers the use of plastering tools; solid plastering ie, the mixing and applying of plastering materials; rendering, skimming; screeding and decorative plasterwork. It is designed to prepare learners to enter the construction industry. As part of the programme learners will also complete Essential Skills. Opportunities will also be provided for GCSEs in English, Welsh and Mathematics.

About this course

Progression and Employment:
The qualification provides the knowledge, understanding and skills related to the equivalent NVQ unit. On completion of this diploma, learners may progress into employment as a trainee plasterer.

Additional information

Method of Assessment Completion will be by: Achievement of each unit by internal testing undertaken by the trainer. Each knowledge unit also has a mandatory series of questions and answers produced by CAA and managed by the trainer Synoptic practical assignment set by CAA and controlled by the trainer. Successful completion of the assignment will be needed before the qualification can be completed. An online test covering the core units and the occupational units must be passed to achieve the qualification. The test will be an independent test of knowledge and understanding.
