Who The Course is for
This course is for school leavers and adults who have completed level 1and who are interested in a career in construction.
Successful students tend to:
• have practical skills and good hand skills
- be able to follow technical drawings, building plans, and other instructions
-be fit and strong enough to carry tools and materials
Course Content
You will study Technical Certificate Level 1 Diploma in Plastering, Key Skills Level 1 in application of number and communications. Areas covered include:
OCNW Preparation for Employment in Construction Industries
- Health and Safety within the construction industry
- Stacking and storing materials and equipment
- The construction industry
- Safe use of tools
- Plastering and rendering
All elements are assessed and must meet City & Guilds standards.
L1 Diploma in Plastering
- Health and Safety within the construction industry
- Stacking and storing materials and equipment
- The construction industry
- Prepare background surfaces and plaster materials
- Apply plaster materials to internal backgrounds
- Produce components from moulds
All elements are assessed and must meet Construction Awards Alliance standards.
Entry RequirementsLearning & Assessment Methods
- Assessment is via multiple choice examination and practical tests
- Awarding body phase test
- Portfolio of knowledge
Qualifications Gained
On completion of the course students will have gained:
OCNW Preparation for Employment in Construction Industries
Technical Certificate Level 1 Diploma in Plastering qualification (Construction Awards Alliance)
Tutorial & Enrichment Studies.
