About this course

Standard entry to this course is one reference. It is desirable that you can demonstrate 90% attendance in your last place of study or work. A GCSE in both English and maths at grade 4 (C) or above, plus two other GCSEs, one of which must be a science. You will also need to have successfully completed a level 2 plumbing programme.



Consideration will be given to all applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold formal English and maths qualifications, but must have previously completed a level 2 plumbing programme.

Course programme

Year 1

The plumbing technical diploma level 3 is a design system knowledge orientated learning programme. The level 3 programme has a number of mandatory units that in combination will develop practical knowledge and theoretical understanding, to enable students to apply higher level skills. You will study modules in cold water systems, hot water systems, sanitation and central heating systems.

Additional information

Assessment will be a summative examination in late April to May. There will be assessment through out the programme by your tutors to check learning and underpinning knowledge of the subjects you will be undertaking. Practical assessments will also be tutor designed formative assessments and a Summative City Guilds assessment in May to June.
