Course Aims:
To further develop and improve techniques and understanding of appropriate materials and processes through practical experience of the making and glazing of handmade pottery objects.
Course Content:
Practical demonstrations and assignments, continue to develop skills in handbuliding, coliing, slab- building, press-moulding, throwing, modelling, surface decoration, colouring techniques and glaze application. Develop ideas through to a finished product.

Exam:
Assessment is informal and ongoing. Students will produce a portfolio of work showing completion/evidence of three mandatory units which are assessed by the tutor and verified by an external NCFE moderator. As an integral part of the course all students will be expected to complete a workbook evidencing competence in the assessment criteria.
