The fuel system is that part of the thermal engines that serves for the introduction of the fresh charge (petrol and air and in the two-stroke also oil) into the engine cylinder. It works coupled to the distribution system that it controls according to the traction needs of the vehicle. Such a plant has certain tasks: to supply the fuel and fuel and to mix the fuel into the fuel. Based on the type of mechanism that the machine uses to collect the work done by the motor fluid, internal combustion engines are divided into reciprocating, rotary and static. The power supply circuit of a Diesel engine is quite simple. A tank sometimes made of steel, sometimes of PVC, contains the diesel fuel. From here starts a pipe that reaches the feed pump (when present), which has the task of pumping the fuel into the circuit. The first stage is the decanter or pre-filter: a kind of filter aimed at separating the water that is always contained in the diesel fuel from the latter. Once these accessories did not have any type of filter and were called decanters because, by exploiting the greater weight of the water, they made it decant downwards, separating it from the diesel oil; today, having added a filter unit, they take the name of prefilter. they had this decanted downwards, separating it from the diesel; today, having added a filter unit, they take the name of prefilter. they had this decanted downwards by separating it from the diesel oil; today, having added a filter unit, they take the name of prefilter.
