Course programme
The aim of this module is to equip candidates with the basic principles needed in the use of presentation graphics software. A candidate who successfully completes this module will be able to create a simple presentation including text and graphics, edit components, save and print presentations and run a slideshow.
What modules are covered?• Load the presentation graphics application• open an exiting presentation
• Insert clipart from hard disk, network location, optical or removable/portable media
• Place and resize object in the page/slide
• Duplicate and delete objects / copy object to another page/slide
• Insert pre-defined shapes and add lines and arrows
• Add text to a pre-defined shape
• Modify colour and lines for a pre-defined shape
• Group a set of graphical objects
• Set page/slide margins, tabs and indents
• Group text with a graphical object• reposition and resize grouped objects
• Use layers to order objects• rotate, mirror and invert objects
• Run the presentation• print the presentation as a handout
College Certificate or City & Guilds certificate (additional charge)
How will I be assessed?By a portfolio of evidence or the completion of an assignment covering the assessment objectives. The choice of assessment method is yours.
What else do I need to know?All courses listed are studied as 'Open Learning', supported by a tutor. You can enrol at anytime and attend your course at workshop times to suit you. Although flexible, sessions must be booked in advance.
