About this course

Applicants need to be registered social workers and will normally need to have been qualified for a minimum of two years.
NOTE: To undertake the Practice Development Educator Module you must:

Have the support of a practice-based ‘assessor’ who will be responsible for supporting and assessing your learning
be supervising, enabling and assessing the professional development of a qualified social worker while you are studying this module to become a Practice Development Educator.

The content addresses the knowledge and values underpinning learning and assessment in the work-place based on the domains of ability for work-based learning set out in the practice educator standards (PEPS 2013)

Practice based learning

Candidates are required, as part of the module’s learning content, to provide a social work candidate (e.g. NQSW, AMHP, BIA) with supervision, learning support and assessment.

Assessment

Assessment is through a written account of being a practice development educator and the presentation of a portfolio of examples of performance drawn from a range of practice documents and feedback.
