Course programme
Preparation to BA is designed to prepare International Students applying for a UAL undergraduate course. Students will familiarise themselves with life in London during the six week course, participating in studio based projects and research trips to some of the capital's world famous museums and galleries. Regular group discussions and tutorials will build on communication skills and English language sessions will support and prepare students for study in further education in art and design.
Course Objectives:
To build upon an applicants’ technical skills through developing their contextual understanding of their chosen degree
To analyse the critical factors and key ideas influencing contemporary art, design and communication
To focus on visual strategies and approaches to research to improve creative, imaginative visual thinking and capitalise on London as a learning resource
Introduce self-reflection and a critical analysis as an integral part of the creative learning experience
To build upon an applicants’ skills in communicating ideas, verbal and written

Entry Requirements
An offer to a UAL Undergraduate BA Course in Art & Design. Alternatively, you can make a direct application to the course by submitting a digital portfolio of around 20 images of your work, to , before booking your place.
IELTS level 5.0 or above if English isn’t an applicant’s first language, with at least 4.0 in reading, writing, listening and speaking (please check our English Language requirements)
If you are from OUTSIDE the European Economic Area (EEA) you MUST present your passport and valid visa/proof of entry clearance to the Short Course office before the start of your course. Please note you will NOT be allowed to study, if do not present a valid visa/proof of entry clearance on the first day of the course.
