The course is designed as a stand-alone introductory short course but successful completion does offer the opportunity to apply for entry on to the full award, the Professional Certificate in Post Compulsory Education (PCET) or alternatively if you are a Graduate, the opportunity to apply for entry on to the Professional Graduate Certificate in Post-Compulsory Education (PGCE).

The credits for this module have a 5 year shelf-life, meaning you may join the full course at some point in the future (within 5 years) without having to redo this module.

You will be required to hold a recognised qualification in your chosen subject or be able to demonstrate relevant industrial, professional or commercial experience where appropriate. The minimum qualification, unless your job role already requires you to teach, is NVQ level 3 or equivalent.
