Prince2 Foundation and Practitioner

Introduction: This course is designed for practising managers, project leaders and project coordinators who wish to gain formal recognition of their skills by taking both the PRINCE2® examinations.

The course will provide you with a complete theoretical and practical understanding of the PRINCE2® project management method and enables you to apply PRINCE2® to business scenarios.

Following the standard syllabus issued by the PRINCE2® Examinations Board, it focuses on the PRINCE2® process model and how this might be applied pragmatically to real projects.

The course is 4 days long and includes two exams. The Foundation exam is first and normally held on Thursday and the Practitioner exam on Friday morning and is open book. This is not a course you should take lightly as you will need evening work to prepare for both exams. We suggest that you focus fully on the course during your time with us to ensure the best result possible, and complete the pre-reading you will be sent prior to the start of the course

THE EXAMS

PRINCE2® 2009 Qualification Scheme - Foundation Examination Format
This is a closed book multiple choice exam (i.e. no s upporting material permitted in the classroom) - duration 1 hour. The exam structure is as follows:

  • 75 questions per paper
  • 5 questions to be trial and not counted in scores
  • 35 marks required (out of 70 available) to pass - 50%
  • 5 of the 70 questions will be select style
  • 5 of the 70 questions will be negative style
  • 5 of the 70 questions will be missing word style
  • The remaining 60 questions (including trial questions) will be standard style
  • All sequencing questions will be removed from the paper and will not be used in the PRINCE2® Foundation papers

PRINCE2® 2009 Qualification Scheme - Practitioner Examination Format This is an open-book examination (only the PRINCE2® Manual is allowed) in the "Objective Testing" format, a style of complex multiple-choice examination. The exam structure is as follows:

  • 9 questions per paper with 12 marks available per question - all question items will be worth 1 mark, making the notal number of marks available per paper 108.
  • 2.5 hours allowed (no reading time has been added)
  • The pass mark is 59 (55%).

All PRINCE2® material for both Foundation and Practitioner courses are provided by our ATO and verified by the APMG.
