About this course

You must be aged over 19 and have lived in the EU for the past 3 years and currently be living in England. There is a short initial assessment to complete to ensure the course is the right level for you. If you are aged 19-24 you must already hold a full level 2 qualification.

Year 1

The course consists of five mandatory units covering the following:

Unit 1. Understand how to work in end of life care
Unit 2. Understand how to provide support to manage pain and discomfort
Unit 3. End of life care and dementia
Unit 4. Understanding the role of the care worker in time of death
Unit 5. Understanding loss and grief in end of life care
Unit 6. Care planning in end of life care.

All learning materials and resource books are provided.

Additional information

You will receive a resource pack containing four textbooks and four workbooks with submission dates for each part. You are assessed on the answers you supply within the workbooks. This is a knowledge-based course and you will receive feedback on your answers and guidance on how to complete any resubmissions you might have. This could be via post or email. There are no observations or exams.
