Course programme

The study programme operates between aspiration and action: you learn to grasp and translate your artistic ideas and those of others into concrete activities, the formulation of plans, budgets and scenarios. Over a four-year period you are trained to function as production director, capable of combining communicative, business and organisational skills with a broad creativity, artistic insight and knowledge of working procedures in the performing arts, including technique. Through intensive teamwork with the Theaterschool and internships in the professional field, you gain practical experience in all aspects of theatre making.

Education is divided into three clusters: production, performing arts and technique. Thanks to this broad basis, graduates are employed in a wide range of organisational functions, often with serious responsibilities, like producer, managing director of a theatre company, (assistant) stage manager with a musical production or director’s assistant.

Attention!
The language of the Theatre Department is Dutch. In order to function up to the mark in the lessons, foreign students are required to speak, write and read Dutch. For more information about application we refer to the Dutch website.

The bachelor's programme in Production and Stage Management is a track within the Bachelor Theatre.
