Entry Requirements
Individual employers set the selection criteria, but this is likely to include 5 GCSEs, including maths and English, although some employers will accept other relevant qualifications and experience, including a relevant Level 2 qualification. Apprentices without English or Maths at Level 2 must achieve this prior to taking the end point assessment. Apprentices at this level should have a good level of practical accounting knowledge/skills and must have successfully completed a Level 3 Accounting Apprenticeship or a Level 3 professional accounting qualification such as AAT Level 3 Diploma in Accounting.
Delivery and Assessment
Assessment is via online unitised examinations and two elements of End Point Assessment, one being the completion of a portfolio of work based evidence and the second a final synoptic exam covering all other units. At this level you will also be required to produce a reflective statement or presentation.
Progression
Upon successful completion of all elements of this apprenticeship you will be a qualified Accounting Technician and you may wish to undertake additional study towards becoming a fully qualified Accountant with ACCA, ICAEW or CIMA.
