Description of Major
Management is concerned broadly with human, physical, and information resources and how to acquire, use, and maintain an optimal resource mix in an organizational setting. The essence of management’s responsibility is decision making about these resources. The Management program provides the student with a foundation in the various areas of management and with specialization in one or more areas.
In the first two years at FSU, students should take courses to complete the following: General Education requirements, Writing requirement, Multicultural Course requirements, and Prerequisite Coursework requirements. Some courses may fulfill requirements in multiple areas. Electives in the first two years should focus on gaining additional exposure to the social and behavioral sciences, and on improving communication and analytical reasoning skills.
