About this course
Relevant qualifications: a minimum of a Level 3 in the area you wish to teach. You should also have Level 2 qualification in English and maths (or be working towards them).
Record of prior learning and transfers
For students wishing to be considered for entry, the University of South Wales Group or partner college is able, in many instances and taking into consideration the requirements of relevant professional bodies, to accredit prior learning in accordance with its published regulations.

Course programme
The first year is made up of four modules:
- preparing to teach
- learning and applying pedagogy
- planning and assessment
- professional practice 1
The second year has three modules:
- enhancing, learning, teaching and assessment
- the role of ICT in FE and blended learning
- professional practice 2
Students will need to undertake teaching practice of a minimum of 70 hours each year and must have this arranged before enrolling on the course.
Assessment is based on written assignments, presentations and actual teaching.
