ITonlinelearning’s online tutor-led PMP course is designed for the IT Professional wanting to learn techniques and knowledge to take their project manager skills to a greater depth. PMP and PRINCE are the most widely recognised Project Management certifications globally. PMP can offer considerable benefits and knowledge to Project Managers (even if you are PRINCE2 certified).

Whereas PRINCE2 is methodology based, PMP is more focused on the skill set and situation handling needed to be a highly effective Project Manager. PRINCE2 and PMP are highly complementary and are not competing methodologies as some PM’s think. PMP can be summarised as an approach that provides information on what a project manager needs to know whereas PRINCE2 demonstrates how to apply this knowledge.

Is the PMP course right for you?

Experienced Project Managers should consider this qualification to consolidate their skills and allow them to demonstrate and be recognised as capable project managers, but why not explore the PMP demo first to get an exact idea of the quality of the course and how the training is delivered.

More about PMP

PMP is techniques based and consists of tools and techniques of project management as well as recommended best practice. PRINCE2 on the other hand is a clear methodology. PRINCE2 may be the de-facto standard methodology in the UK and many Project Managers may find it very difficult to source work in the UK without being PRINCE2 certified (especially in the Public Sector where PRINCE2 is almost mandatory).

However, PMP adds greater depth to your skill set, compliments your PRINCE2 certification and helps you differentiate yourself in the job market from PRINCE2 Project Managers applying for the same roles. Even if you are not looking to become PMP certified, you will find great value in going through the PMP course.
