· The role of the Proof Reader

· The influence accurate proof-reading has on increasing productivity

· The sorts of mistakes people make: common spelling errors and misused words

· The warning signs of words omitted, mistyped or repeated

· Inconsistencies you should not miss: postcodes; telephone numbers; improbabilities or incomplete information

· Using long words: suffixes; prefixes; combination words; hyphenation

· Danger areas: transpositions, doubled letters

· Using spell check programmes effectively

· A summary of the most commonly used proof-reading symbols.

· Tips and techniques

This programme concentrates on the importance of consistency and keeping within corporate style. It can enhance the delegate’s ability to spot mistakes and the trainer will dedicate a module on spelling, grammar and punctuation, all of which can help to identify the common mistakes that arise from a poor grasp of these elements within any business.
